Artificial Sweeteners Confound the Brain

Using MRI on subjects who ate and drank foods sweetened either with sugar or Splenda, scientists found that both elicit similar activity in the brain, but the artificial sweetener did not reach the same level of activity in the pleasure and satiation centers.
