Performance Issues?

Dismissed U.S. Attorneys Received Strong Evaluations - New York Times

Apparently they were performing too well (and looking into corruption in high places a little too closely) to be kept on. You know how it is. Interestingly enough, they would have gone quietly until some flacks started suggesting they were fired over their performance. Turns our their actual performance evaluations were glowing by federal standards, so if that was the reason, it can only mean they were to good for their jobs.
